Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to perform duties that meet the needs of the company and our clients.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Culinary qualification is an advantage
- 2-5 years of experience and a proven record in a hotel or restaurant kitchen, as a Baker or Pastry Chef
- Ability to work well in a team
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise with managers about daily preparation needs
- Prepare, bake, and coordinate menu items for desserts according to recipes and procedures
- Be familiar with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters
- Clean and wash all small equipment used in baking
- Keep your work area clean, including floors, tiles, work surfaces, and equipment
- Use equipment, materials, and cleaning agents correctly and follow instructions
- Follow all hygiene and safety rules
- Prepare items for functions when needed
- Carry out instructions from managers within set time limits
- Manage the kitchen and staff in the absence of the catering manager
- Maintain health and safety standards
