Assistant Boilermaking

• Job Type: Full Time
• Qualification: Matric
• Experience: 1 – 2 years
• Location: Gauteng
• Job Field: Engineering / Technical

Qualifying Criteria:

• Grade 10, 11, 12 or equivalent qualification
• Good proficiency in English and any other official South African language
• Knowledge of boilermaking is an advantage
• 1-2 years’ experience in boilermaking in a mining or industrial environment is required
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
• Strong verbal communication skills
• South African citizenship
• Clear criminal record

Responsibilities:

• Work shifts on a cycle or rotation
• Assist artisans by supporting their duties, carrying toolboxes, hand tools, and other equipment
• Maintain tools and equipment, and keep hand tools safe
• Perform assigned tasks and other related duties in the boilermaker shop
• Ensure good housekeeping in and around the work area
• Manage and maintain your area according to mine standards, procedures, and practices
• Follow the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) standards and Gold One’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
