Assistant Boiler-1

  • Experience Workshop, maintenance, or engineering environment preferred; boiler experience is an advantage

Competencies and Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Experience in a workshop, maintenance, or engineering environment
  • Boiler environment experience is an advantage
  • Strong ability to learn (trainability)
  • Willing to work overtime on short notice
  • Good physical health

Key Performance Areas (KPA) & Responsibilities

  • Ensure enough coal in the bunker for the current and next shift
  • Commission the boiler correctly
  • Maintain a standard supply of steam to production
  • Prevent any deficiencies in the steam generating process to avoid production losses
  • Follow all work practices in your area of responsibility
  • Perform routine checks as outlined in procedural check sheets
  • Monitor steam supply to production to prevent pressure drops and production losses
  • Be a motivated, well-trained, and informed team member
