Position Summary:

We seek a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support financial decision-making at our Benoni Bakery division. This role focuses on maintaining financial records, driving internal controls, and delivering accurate reporting.

Key Details:

• Employment Type: Full Time
• Education: BCom/BCom Hons (Accounting/SAICA/SAIPE preferred)
• Experience: 3+ years accounting experience
• Location: Benoni, Gauteng
• Department: Finance/Accounting

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and GL journal entries
• Conduct stock reconciliations and variance analysis
• Develop financial reports for senior management
• Monitor COS analysis and expense variance tracking
• Maintain provisions/accruals and rebate accounts
• Coordinate annual asset verification processes
• Implement and audit internal control procedures
• Handle accounts payable/receivable queries

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license
• Proficiency in MS Office (Advanced Excel)
• FMCG experience (advantageous)
• Strong reconciliation and reporting skills
• Knowledge of accounting standards
