The role ensures that all air-conditioning equipment in the building and its maintenance meet required standards and health and safety regulations. This helps prevent disruptions to broadcasting services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration equipment as per schedule to keep it in good working order.
• Maintain housekeeping and keep log books up to date.
• Handle installations, minor repairs, and modifications to refrigeration equipment, such as fans, pumps, and air-conditioning plants, to meet set standards.
• Provide on-the-job training to staff in basic skills for efficient department work.
• Braise and solder copper and other pipes to prevent leaks in the system.
• Be on standby 24 hours a day to respond to any breakdowns.
• Conduct inspections of fan and pump installations.
• Make changes and installations to various systems.
• Follow safety regulations and standard safe practices.

Inherent/Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Artisan (NTC3 or N3 and Trade Test Certificate) or equivalent.

Experience

• 3 years in a maintenance and building environment.
• Experience with AC systems for high-rise buildings.

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of fire protection reticulation equipment.
• Knowledge and experience with protection equipment.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to identify problems and find solutions.
• Skill in isolating problem areas and using appropriate techniques to solve them.
• Knowledge of safe use of machinery and equipment.
• Awareness of potential dangers in the workplace.
• Hand and motor skills needed for essential work activities.
