Artisan Electrician UG

Suitable candidates must have the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12 / NQF 4 or equivalent
  • Trade Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate (advantageous)
  • Fire Fighting course (advantageous)
  • Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment
  • Solid experience in power system protection
  • Experience in switching LV, MV, and HV systems
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
  • Electrical fault finding
  • Wiring of communication systems
  • Maintaining transformers and motor control panels
  • Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
  • Maintain heating and air conditioning systems

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Performing general electrical maintenance
  • Coordinating tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Reading technical diagrams and blueprints
  • Repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
  • Performing circuit breaker corrective maintenance
