About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time position. As a plant electrician, you will handle routine maintenance, installations, and repairs on equipment. Your goal is to ensure safe operations and meet electrical reliability standards set by your supervisor. You will also operate and test electrical equipment in your area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and coordinate pre-work for repairs, planned, and predictive maintenance.
  • Access work areas safely to perform electrical maintenance.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on equipment and assess risks.
  • Keep the worksite clean and safe, and maintain electrical reliability in your section.
  • Work independently, in a team, and under pressure.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair maintenance equipment.
  • Provide clear feedback to your supervisor.

About You:

You should have experience in:

  • At least 3 years post-qualification in electrical maintenance and installation, with 2 years in mining.
  • Reading electrical schematics for power and control circuits.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley VSDs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage switchgear is a plus.
  • Plant experience with substations, MCCs, transformers, motors, liquid starters, safety circuits, and switchgear (VCB/SF6) is a plus.
  • MHSA knowledge or experience is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12.
  • N3 Nated certificate.
  • Electrician Trade certificate.
  • Valid driver’s license.
