Artisan Assistant (Mechanical)

• Qualification: First School Leaving Certificate (Grade 10 or equivalent)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs, installations, and emergency breakdowns.
• Supervise and provide in-service training to co-workers.
• Maintain and repair mechanical equipment, plant equipment, furniture (such as beds), fixtures, and fittings.
• Help with preventive maintenance procedures, including autoclaves, steam generators, water tanks, and chlorifiers.
• Perform basic welding repairs and installations.
• Obtain quotations, order materials, and control stock to complete tasks.
• Strictly follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Requirements

• Grade 10 (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to work overtime and perform standby duties.
• Must be physically able to do the required tasks.
• Ability to work independently, plan ahead, and collaborate in a team.
• Strong commitment to safety standards.
• Skills in handling conflicts and solving problems.
• Shortlisted candidates will need to complete a practical assessment.

Salary and Benefits

R 193 359 per annum – R 227 766 per annum, plus service benefits including a 13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance.
