Artisan Assistant

  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Qualification: Grade 10 (equivalent to First School Leaving Certificate)
  • Experience: Appropriate experience in building, air-conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, maintenance, and repairs. Workshop-related tasks.

Duties:

  • Assist with engineering projects, repairs, and internal maintenance, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, glazing, and building tasks.
  • Maintain, repair, and clean drains on a regular basis.
  • Maintain and repair general kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act strictly.
  • Support artisans in their daily duties.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and materials.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the Machinery and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery and perform welding tasks.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and work at heights or in narrow spaces.
  • Grade 10 qualification.
  • Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB).
  • Willingness to do standby duties.
  • Readiness to assist in all facilities in the sub-district within the workshop setup.

Salary:

R 193 359 per annum, plus benefits including a 13th cheque, employer’s contribution to the pension fund, housing allowance, and medical aid allowance.
