Artisan Assistant (Agrifriend) – Hartbeesfontein

Purpose of the Job

To assist with servicing, adjusting, performing minor repairs, and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.

Assist Artisan with Maintenance and Repairs

Core Tasks:

  • Help the Tractor Technician service agricultural machinery and equipment, completing routine maintenance tasks on time.
  • Support scheduled preventative maintenance to avoid machinery breakdowns.
  • Help spot potential mechanical issues and assist with basic troubleshooting.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly for repair and maintenance work.
  • Follow instructions from the artisan or supervisor to make minor adjustments or replace parts.
  • Keep tools, workbenches, and work areas clean and organized for safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare machinery and tools for service jobs.

Assist with Ad-Hoc Queries

Core Tasks:

  • Handle various ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Tractor Technician or Workshop Foreman.
  • Help transport and handle parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow South African National Standards (SANS) and company safety protocols in all activities.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, and report any unsafe conditions right away.
  • Provide general support to workshop operations, including cleaning, inventory checks, and administrative help when needed.
  • Support candidates during their development process.
  • Adhere to relevant laws and regulations, such as the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Labour Relations Act (LRA), and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSH Act).

Job Requirements

  • Qualifications: National Senior Certificate or Artisan certificate.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
