About the Organization

The South African Local Government Association (SALGA) serves as the unified voice for all 257 local governments in South Africa, operating through national and provincial offices. We facilitate voluntary membership and maintain accountability through our constitution.

Key Requirements

  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Expertise in M&E frameworks and performance management systems
  • Advanced skills in data analysis tools (Microsoft Excel required)
  • Knowledge of DPME and National Treasury reporting standards
  • Experience in data verification and quality control processes

Core Responsibilities

Performance Monitoring

  • Manage quarterly/annual reporting cycles
  • Verify data accuracy and compliance with national standards
  • Maintain document control systems (SharePoint)
  • Provide provincial clusters with performance feedback

Program Evaluation

  • Develop KPIs and data collection methodologies
  • Conduct field visits for implementation checks
  • Create visual reports for stakeholder communication
  • Train staff on M&E best practices

Organizational Support

  • Lead M&E capacity building initiatives
  • Represent at sector meetings and workshops
  • Monitor policy changes affecting reporting requirements
