Job Description

As part of our team, you will work on various projects in traditional actuarial areas and broader fields. Your role will include:

  • Managing and delivering core actuarial advisory projects, such as reserving, product development, peer reviews under domestic actuarial regimes, risk management, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, process reviews, and portfolio transfers. This includes standards like IFRS17 and Solvency II.
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary assignments in areas like data and AI strategy, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, audits, and enterprise risk management. You will collaborate with professionals in audit, finance, consulting, and risk advisory.
  • Supporting actuarial teams on reserving or review work for the Head of Actuarial Function role.
  • Building strong client relationships by understanding their business needs and providing excellent service.
  • Helping with practice management, including recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and performance appraisals.
  • Driving practice growth through internal and external networking, research, and preparing business proposals. You will also support Deloitte initiatives, such as creating educational materials on emerging trends like ESG, to strengthen our market position.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified or part-qualified actuary with a data analytics qualification or experience.

Experience and Skills

  • Qualified actuary with significant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the non-life or health (re)insurance industry, and the ability to apply it in business settings.
  • Proven experience managing teams and projects.
  • Skills in developing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Experience in financial reporting, especially with Solvency II and/or IFRS17, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, or credit risk modeling is advantageous but not required.
