The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is an organization responsible for biodiversity research and the dissemination of biodiversity information, with a mandate to support the management of South Africa’s biodiversity resources. SANBI is seeking an Administration Officer specializing in Supply Chain Management to support their operations.

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- NQF 6 Qualification: National diploma in Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Logistics, or equivalent with 4 years of relevant work experience.
- NQF 7 Qualification: A degree in Supply Chain Management, Financial Management, Logistics, or equivalent with 2 years of relevant work experience.
- A postgraduate degree (NQF 8) in any of the above fields will be considered an added advantage.
Key Competencies:
To be successful in this role, the following competencies are required:
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management legislation, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP).
- Strong planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license with at least one year of practical driving experience and the willingness to travel when required.
Key Performance Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing Procurement Processes: Handle all procurement-related tasks in line with SANBI’s Supply Chain Management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- End-to-End Administration: Oversee all administrative matters related to quotation sourcing, evaluation, and awarding processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide professional services to suppliers and other relevant stakeholders.
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Assist in managing governance, risk, and compliance within supply chain management activities.
This role is critical in ensuring that SANBI’s supply chain functions efficiently, adhering to compliance regulations and supporting the biodiversity research mandate.
