About the Role

The Administration Officer will manage the post‑mortem administration office, ensuring efficient and effective service for all stakeholders. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining records, handling enquiries, and supporting the Facility Manager with administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise subordinates, including performance management, development, and training.
  • Organise and monitor case admissions and releases.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly registers using MS Excel.
  • Oversee typing of post‑mortem reports and keep records of all unidentified and unclaimed remains.
  • Handle telephone enquiries and liaise with doctors, SAPS, funeral undertakers, and families.
  • Compile minutes and distribute agendas to committee members.
  • Support Human Resource Management, asset management, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Assist the Facility Manager with administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
  • 3–5 years of proven relevant experience.
  • National Diploma or Degree in Public Management, Administration, or Management Assistant is an advantage.
  • Computer literate (MS Office).
  • Valid driving licence, code B.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks governing public services and government transformation policies.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
