Job Purpose
The Chemical Analyst coordinates chemical laboratory services under prescribed conditions.
Key Performance Areas
The Chemical Analyst ensures daily work meets high standards to achieve council objectives. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing samples in the laboratory for microbiological, chemical, and physical quality of consumable water.
- Investigating new sources of industrial discharge.
- Conducting inspections, monitoring, and reporting on industrial effluents in the systems.
- Improving water pollution control measures.
- Coordinating the regulation of sewerage purification.
- Coordinating the examination of consumable water.
- Providing supervision to staff.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Water Care, or a relevant qualification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience.
