Position Overview:
We seek a qualified Investigator to conduct thorough examinations of potential violations under the Health Professions Act. This role requires a combination of healthcare expertise, investigative skills, and regulatory knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences
- Current registration with any Health Statutory Council
- Valid driver’s license
- 3 years’ professional experience (clinical/non-clinical) or investigative experience
Key Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Health Professions Act
- HPCSA Regulations and Rules
- Organizational policies and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and case management systems
- Time management and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations into alleged violations of healthcare regulations
- Manage cases of reported unprofessional conduct
- Collect evidence and documentation from relevant parties
- Recommend precautionary suspensions when required
- Prepare detailed investigation reports for committee review
- Analyze complaint trends to inform policy improvements
- Develop and present regular compliance reports
Additional Duties:
- Support awareness programs for healthcare practitioners
- Provide expert testimony during committee hearings
- Monitor implementation of committee decisions
- Collaborate with education and training departments
