Junior Internal Auditor (x2 Positions)

Icebolethu Group is seeking objective and dedicated candidates to fill two Junior Internal Auditor positions on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. The successful candidates will add value to operations by applying a systematic and disciplined approach to risk management, auditing, control, and governance processes. You will need a strong knowledge of accounting procedures and good judgement skills. This role is based in the Group Internal Audit Department at Icebolethu Group in Durban.
Responsibilities
The key duties include:
- Performing and managing the full audit cycle, including risk management and control over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability, and compliance with all relevant directives and regulations.
- Obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating accounting documentation, previous reports, data, and flowcharts.
- Preparing and presenting reports that reflect audit results and document the process.
- Acting as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality, and achievement of goals.
- Identifying loopholes and recommending measures to avoid risks and save costs.
- Maintaining open communication with management and the audit committee.
- Documenting processes and preparing audit findings memorandums.
- Conducting follow-up audits to monitor management’s interventions.
- Engaging with clients during audits to obtain necessary information or resolve exceptions.
- Preparing audit files (electronically or manually) with all working papers for procedures performed, and signing them off.
- Communicating project challenges to the manager for support.
- Exercising diligence and professionalism in all audit assignments, ensuring completion within set timelines.
- Reviewing management comments and action plans to confirm they address control deficiencies.
- Obtaining evidence to support audit results.
- Engaging in continuous learning about sector rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing or a related field.
- Registration as a member with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is advantageous.
Experience and Knowledge Required
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of working experience in a similar role.
Skills and Competencies Required
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases.
- Ability to handle large amounts of data and compile detailed reports.
- Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Sound independent judgement.

The key duties include:
- Responding to clients needing funeral services and assisting them according to Icebolethu Burial Services processes and procedures.
- Driving allocated vehicles to remove the deceased from the place of death to a designated parlour.
- Assisting in processing burial orders and other funeral-related documents.
- Helping prepare the deceased, including washing, dressing, arranging for viewing, and other funeral tasks.
- Preparing the body for washing, dressing, and embalming when needed.
- Assisting in taking bereaved families to the chapel for services and viewing.
- Driving allocated vehicles to transport the deceased to the place of burial.
- Operating and cleaning cemetery equipment.
- Checking all cemetery equipment after use and reporting any faults.
- Cleaning vehicles daily.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks using the provided standard checklist.
- Logging mileage and references for all trips.
- Recording all fuel transactions in line with the vehicle mileage logbook.

We are looking for a competent Close Protection Officer to monitor, safeguard, and conduct surveillance for a VVIP Principal, while protecting our executives, resources, and equipment. You will detect suspicious behavior, prevent harm, interruptions, and threats to the VVIP and executives, and stop other criminal activities.
A Close Protection Officer must be well-trained in Principal Protection, surveillance, early threat detection, and avoidance, while maintaining the Principal’s social standing.
