The Council on Higher Education (CHE) is an independent statutory body established under the Higher Education Act (Act 101 of 1997) serving as South Africa’s Quality Council for Higher Education. We advise the Minister of Higher Education and Training while driving quality assurance through our Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC).

Our Corporate Services Sub-programme provides strategic leadership in human resources and ICT management, ensuring organizational effectiveness through:

  • Policy development & governance frameworks
  • Human capital management systems
  • Technology infrastructure optimization
  • Business process engineering

📝 Key Responsibilities

Reporting to: Human Resources Specialist

Core Operational Functions:

  • 🗂️ Manage full recruitment cycle coordination including:
    • Candidate screening processes
    • Interview logistics management
    • Onboarding program implementation
  • 📈 Implement performance management systems
    • Maintain appraisal records
    • Track staff development progress
  • ⏱️ Oversee leave administration
    • Accrual tracking
    • Leave policy enforcement
  • 🔒 Maintain confidential HR records
    • Personnel files management
    • Compliance audits preparation

🎯 Essential Requirements

  • ✅ National Diploma in HR Management (NQF Level 6 equivalent)
  • ✅ 3-4 years progressive HR administration experience
  • ✅ SAGE People 300 system proficiency
  • ✅ Advanced Microsoft Office skills
