About the Role
Join our team to lead labour relations initiatives in the Northern Cape. You’ll manage disciplinary processes, resolve disputes, and foster partnerships with unions and stakeholders.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
-
Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Labour Relations or Labour Law.

Minimum 3 years as a Labour Relations Officer/Practitioner.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel/work extended hours.
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Regulatory Knowledge: Labour Relations Act, Public Service Act, DPSA guidelines, and collective bargaining.

Core Competencies: Leadership, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and project management.

Communication: Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Personal Traits: Integrity, accountability, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities

Disciplinary & Grievance Management:
-
Facilitate misconduct/disciplinary processes and represent the province at hearings.

Resolve grievances and disputes within regulatory timelines.

Stakeholder Engagement:
-
Liaise with unions, external partners, and the Provincial Consultative Forum (PCF).

Represent the department in mediations, arbitrations, and collective bargaining.

Compliance & Reporting:
-
Submit weekly reports on labour cases.
-
Ensure adherence to risk/compliance standards and labour laws.

Research & Development:
-
Analyze case law trends and benchmark best practices.
-

Team Leadership:
-
Manage unit resources and mentor staff on regulatory compliance.
