Position Overview
We seek an experienced communications professional to serve as the official voice and strategic leader for the Public Protector South Africa. This executive role requires a dynamic individual to shape our public image, manage crisis communications, and lead our media relations strategy while overseeing stakeholder engagement nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated communication strategies aligned with organizational objectives
- Serve as primary spokesperson and media liaison
- Lead crisis communication management and reputation protection
- Oversee national stakeholder engagement programs
- Manage a R12+ million annual budget for Communications & Outreach
- Prepare executive communications for the Public Protector
- Direct brand management and marketing initiatives
- Lead a team of communication professionals
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Law, or related field
- 8+ years’ experience with 5 years in senior management
- 3-5 years proven experience as organizational spokesperson
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility for national travel
