About the Bursary Provider – Gert-Johan Coetzee
Gert-Johan Coetzee, a renowned South African celebrity fashion designer, has made a name for himself in the fashion industry, dressing many international and local celebrities for red-carpet events. In 2009, he partnered with the North West School of Design (NWSD) to award bursaries to deserving students, with the aim of growing the South African fashion industry and financially assisting students who wish to make a name for themselves within the fashion industry.
About the Gert-Johan Coetzee Bursary Programme – Fields Covered
Gert-Johan Coetzee is inviting students to apply for the Gert-Johan Coetzee Fashion Bursary, which will be awarded for studies at the North West School of Design, to pursue Fashion Design studies for 3 years. The bursary will cover tuition fees, a laptop, and a Bernina sewing machine. The bursary will not provide cover for personal stationery, personal laptop, accommodation, and meals, which will be for the students’ own account.
Eligibility Requirements for the Gert-Johan Coetzee Bursary
To be considered for the bursary, applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria:

| Commitment | Must be willing to commit to 3 years of study |
| Language | Must be fluent in English (read, write, and speak) |

To apply for the bursary, applicants must follow these steps:

- Record and upload a video to social media, by following these instructions:
- Record a video of yourself dressed in your favorite style.
