About BOCMA:
We are a water management authority established under the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998), responsible for sustainable integrated water resource management in the Breede-Olifants Water Management Area.
Role Purpose:
Provide technical leadership in groundwater assessment, development, and protection while ensuring compliance with national water management legislation.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc (Hons) in Geohydrology/Geology or equivalent
- 7+ years’ post-qualification groundwater management experience
- SACNASP Professional Geohydrologist registration (mandatory)
- Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement National Water Act provisions for groundwater management
- Develop regulatory frameworks and protection strategies
- Manage groundwater data collection using HYDSTRA/NGA systems
- Supervise catchment monitoring programs
- Evaluate water use license applications
- Coordinate with government agencies and stakeholders
- Manage project budgets up to R[REDACTED]
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in WRSM 2000 and CLASSR/PATCHER models
- Proven team leadership experience
- Advanced GIS application skills
- Public sector financial management experience
