Position Details:
Department: Public Safety – Emergency Management Services (EMS)

Salary: R28,315.59 per month (basic salary, excluding benefits)
Locations: Multiple stations across Johannesburg
Application Requirements:

- Grade 12/Matric certificate (NQF Level 4)
- Firefighter I Certification
- Hazardous Materials Awareness Certificate
- Basic Ambulance Assistant Course (BAC) or Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Valid C1 Driver’s License with Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Current HPCSA registration
- Physical fitness certification
- Clean criminal record
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls for fires, medical crises, and accidents
- Perform fire suppression and rescue operations
- Provide emergency medical treatment and patient transport
- Manage hazardous material incidents
- Conduct urban search & rescue missions
- Maintain and inspect emergency equipment
- Participate in public safety education programs
Essential Skills:
- Strong emergency response capabilities
- Effective communication in English (verbal/written)
- Team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations
- Understanding of occupational health standards
- Physical stamina for demanding situations
