The Purpose of the Role:
The person in this role will provide technical support for the daily operations of the organization’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) broadcast environment. This includes offering technical assistance and advice to users across various locations, platforms, and technologies.
Key Deliverables
Support:
You will support and assist with all business applications used in the eMedia business. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Broadcast system support.
- Virtual Environment: VMWare.
- Microsoft: SCCM, Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Server 2019 – 2021, Windows 10-11.
- Additional: Sage 300 People (Payroll, ESS, HR).
- Database: SQL, Oracle.
- Storage: NetApp, Compellent.
- Desktop Environment: Windows, Linux, Office 365.
You will install new or rebuild existing computers and servers. This involves configuring hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage according to standards and project or operational needs.
You will manage assets and configure systems, contribute to system standards, and help maintain them.
Operations Coordination:
You will resolve any escalated problems quickly and on time. Perform daily system checks to ensure the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes. Review system and application logs, and check that scheduled jobs like backups are completed when needed.
Conduct regular security checks to spot possible intrusions. Perform daily backups to ensure all necessary file systems and data are backed up correctly. Create recovery tapes or disks, recycle media, and send it off-site as required.
Handle regular file archiving and purging when necessary. Create, update, or delete user accounts as requested. Provide support based on requests from different teams.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues, repair and recover from hardware or software failures, and communicate with affected teams. Follow approved procedures for assets.
System Administration and Support:
Offer first-level operational support for all business applications. Provide first-level support for new applications and integrated ICT systems.
Analyze, improve, and consolidate business requirements. Examine current system processes and design functional requirements. Help with project management planning and implementation.
Assist in business readiness to prepare the organization for new systems. Monitor end-user training on processes and system usage.
Maintenance and Documentation:
Record detailed root causes and actions taken for logged issues. Keep asset inventory up to date.
Manage servers and networking equipment, including installing, maintaining, and upgrading Microsoft Windows-based servers and desktops.
Ensure high availability and good performance for critical host computer resources. Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
Maintain backups and test them regularly according to the backup policy. Keep disaster recovery protocols ready and take part in testing.
Analyze system logs to find potential issues. Arrange repairs for hardware failures. Manage user accounts and reset passwords when needed.
Identify ways to improve processes, systems, or networking and discuss them with senior system administrators.
Follow information security procedures and policies as they are updated. Report any security incidents or threats to senior administrators. Take a proactive approach to information security.
Stakeholder Liaison:
Provide solutions to users’ support tickets in a timely and professional way. Escalate tickets that cannot be resolved quickly to senior team members, including relevant information or suggestions.
Offer input and detailed diagnostics when escalating to seniors or management.

Supervisor: Payroll

The Purpose of the Role:
The Payroll Supervisor handles the accurate and timely processing of the company’s payroll in line with statutory requirements and company policies. This role ensures payroll accuracy, complies with tax and labor laws, supervises payroll staff, and provides reports on payroll matters.
Key Deliverables
Payroll Processing & Administration:
Assist with supervising and coordinating daily payroll operations for accurate and timely processing of salaries, wages, and benefits. Capture, verify, and maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, transfers, salary adjustments, and allowances.
Process monthly payroll runs and reconcile data. Administer statutory deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL) and third-party payments (medical aid, pension/provident funds, garnishees). Print, distribute, and file payslips and records as needed. Maintain payroll records, contracts, and employee files according to company policy.
Compliance & Statutory Requirements:
Ensure compliance with SARS, UIF, PAYE, SDL, BCEA, and other laws. Check tax status and structure salaries for new employees. Prepare and submit accurate statutory reports to SARS. Complete submissions for terminations, maternity leave, and other labor needs.
Reconcile internal records with external reports (e.g., medical billing vs. Sage 300 People). Stay updated on payroll and labor laws and advise management of changes.
