The Department of Health aims to promote fairness in terms of race, gender, and disability when filling this position. We seek a candidate whose transfer, promotion, or appointment will help achieve the representation targets outlined in our Employment Equity Plan.

For Attention: Ms M Shitiba
Closing Date: 24 November 2025

Important Notes for Applicants: All short-listed candidates will undergo a technical exercise to assess key job-related skills. The Department will communicate the details of this exercise. For Senior Management Service (SMS) positions, after the interview and technical exercise, the selection panel will recommend candidates for a generic managerial competency assessment, as required by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) Directive. This assessment will evaluate general managerial skills using the official DPSA SMS competency tools.

Applications must be submitted using the new Z83 form, which you can obtain from any Public Service department. Include only a comprehensive CV with your application (detail all previous experience). Complete the Z83 form fully, following DPSA guidelines—failure to do so will lead to automatic disqualification. Do not submit copies of qualifications or other documents with your initial application. Certified copies will be requested only before the final selection stage.

Submit your application as a single PDF file if emailing. Applications arriving after the closing date or not meeting requirements will not be considered. It is your responsibility to have foreign qualifications and national certificates (if applicable) evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).

By applying, you agree to the collection, processing, and storage of your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Your data will be used only for this recruitment process and will not be shared with third parties without your consent, unless required by law.

The Department may choose not to fill the positions. Successful candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks and other vetting processes. Only short-listed candidates will receive correspondence. If you do not hear about an interview within three months of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful. The Department is not responsible if you use incorrect or missing reference numbers on your application.
