About Us:
Brand South Africa plays a vital role in advancing the National Development Plan by enhancing South Africa’s global reputation and competitiveness. We seek an experienced legal professional to join our executive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary legal advisor to CEO, Board of Trustees, and executive leadership
- Ensure compliance with PFMA, Companies Act, POPIA, Labour Legislation, and other regulatory frameworks
- Manage full contract lifecycle including drafting, negotiation, and enforcement
- Provide strategic legal guidance on corporate governance and risk management
- Oversee litigation management and dispute resolution processes
- Develop organizational policies and compliance frameworks
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies
- Lead intellectual property protection strategies
Minimum Requirements:
- LLB/BCom Law degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 5 years’ senior legal management experience
- Proven track record in corporate litigation
- Expert knowledge of South African legislative environment
- Experience in public sector compliance (Section 3A entities)
Essential Competencies:
- Advanced legal drafting and interpretation skills
- Strategic risk assessment capabilities
- Team leadership and staff development experience
- Excellent stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proficient in MS Office and document management systems
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills
