SAMPRA, a non-profit organization protecting music creators’ rights, seeks a proactive Compliance Consultant to join our Licensing Compliance team. We administer performance rights for 40,000+ artists and 98% of South African record companies.

Role Purpose

Drive revenue growth through identification, education, and licensing of music users while ensuring copyright compliance across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct proactive searches for unlicensed music users across various industries
  • Educate businesses on music licensing requirements and copyright law
  • Negotiate and secure license agreements with non-compliant entities
  • Manage end-to-end licensing process from lead generation to documentation
  • Conduct on-site compliance verifications and audits
  • Resolve licensing disputes through professional mediation
  • Maintain accurate client records and pipeline reporting
  • Develop efficient systems for license tracking and compliance monitoring

Requirements

  • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience in sales, compliance enforcement, or related field
  • Valid Code EB driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication abilities
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Knowledge of copyright law (advantageous)
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets
