SAMPRA, a non-profit organization protecting music creators’ rights, seeks a proactive Compliance Consultant to join our Licensing Compliance team. We administer performance rights for 40,000+ artists and 98% of South African record companies.
Role Purpose
Drive revenue growth through identification, education, and licensing of music users while ensuring copyright compliance across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive searches for unlicensed music users across various industries
- Educate businesses on music licensing requirements and copyright law
- Negotiate and secure license agreements with non-compliant entities
- Manage end-to-end licensing process from lead generation to documentation
- Conduct on-site compliance verifications and audits
- Resolve licensing disputes through professional mediation
- Maintain accurate client records and pipeline reporting
- Develop efficient systems for license tracking and compliance monitoring
Requirements
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in sales, compliance enforcement, or related field
- Valid Code EB driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication abilities
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Knowledge of copyright law (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently and meet targets
