Monthly Salary: R49,780.13 (Basic salary, excluding benefits)

Position Overview:

The City of Johannesburg seeks an experienced labor relations professional to provide strategic leadership in employee relations matters. This senior role requires expertise in case management, labor dispute resolution, and legislative compliance while maintaining productive labor relations across municipal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex disciplinary procedures and grievance resolution processes
  • Represent the municipality in labor negotiations and CCMA proceedings
  • Develop and implement employee relations policies aligned with labor legislation
  • Provide expert advisory services on collective agreements and labor practices
  • Coordinate training programs for management on labor relations compliance
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders including SALGBC, SAMWU and IMATU
  • Oversee litigation processes and dispute resolution mechanisms

Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate plus NQF Level 7 qualification in Labor Relations/HR Management
  • 5-7 years’ labor relations experience including 2 years in senior advisory capacity
  • Proven track record in labor dispute resolution and case management
  • In-depth knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EE Act and other labor legislation
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within municipal districts
