Cashier/Cloakroom Attendant Opportunity (8-Month Contract)

Monthly Salary: R15,115.49 (All-inclusive package, no benefits)
Office Location: 2 Helen Joseph Street, Arts & Culture Building, Newtown
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 10 certificate (NQF Level 1 qualification)
- Basic numeracy & literacy skills (reading, writing, addition/subtraction)
- 3-6 months’ experience in cash handling and cleaning duties
- Experience operating cash registers essential
- Johannesburg residency (must provide proof of residence)
- Valid police clearance certification required
- Physical fitness for cleaning/cloakroom responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payments and manage entry point transactions at swimming facilities
- Enforce entry regulations (screen for health/safety concerns)
- Maintain cleanliness standards in ticket offices and changing areas
- Issue temporary lockers and manage cloakroom operations
- Handle seasonal membership sales and registrations
- Balance daily cash receipts and maintain transaction records
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of cash management procedures
- Understanding of basic cleaning protocols
- Conflict resolution with public visitors
- Basic first aid awareness (training provided)
