Salary: R420,533.54 to R545,881.51 per annum (excluding all benefits)

Requirements:

  • A three-year post-matric qualification (NQF Level 6) in Accounting or Finance.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office and financial systems.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A certificate in the Municipal Finance Management Programme (MFMP) or Certificate in Public Municipal Development (CPMD) will be an added advantage.

Key Performance Areas:

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing the municipality’s daily cash flow to ensure liquidity and meet short-term obligations. They will also assist in the revenue collections process.

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual cash flow actuals, projections, and supporting financial analysis reports.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the municipality’s investment and cash management policy.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant sections of the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Treasury Regulations, and Municipal Investment Regulations.
  • Liaise with banks and financial institutions on transactional and investment-related matters.
  • Provide accurate financial data for annual financial statements.
  • Attend to audit queries (internal and external) by ensuring that internal control procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Responsible for reconciliations of bank statements and investment register to relevant system modules/reports.
  • Oversee the unknown deposits register processes, including identification, recording, verification, and adjustments.
  • Clear any reconciling entries or items related to cash management.
  • Authorise debit order processes, including new orders, cancellations, and any amendments.
  • Supervise and develop personnel, which includes staff training and providing guidelines.
