About the Role

The Administration Clerk will support the management and organization of the post‑mortem area and operational office. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, handling enquiries, and assisting with HR, asset, and project management tasks.

Key Duties

  • Assist in the management and organization of the post‑mortem area and operational office.
  • Provide efficient and effective administration services to all stakeholders.
  • Systematically organize and monitor human remains admitted and released.
  • Update relevant registers daily using MS Excel to provide statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Maintain records of unidentified and unclaimed human remains and all remains in storage.
  • Answer telephone enquiries and interact with stakeholders such as doctors, SAPS, funeral undertakers, and families.
  • Compile cremation documents.
  • Assist with HR, asset, and project management administration.

Requirements

  • Senior certificate/Grade 12 or National Diploma/Degree in Public Management, Management Assistant, or a related qualification.
  • Proven relevant experience in an administration clerk role is an advantage.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Computer literate – MS Office (especially Excel) – proof required.
  • Good office organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of legislative frameworks governing public services.
  • Attention to detail in work and report preparation.
  • Basic bookkeeping, office planning, organisational and archiving skills.
  • Good time‑management and punctuality.
