Job Summary

Bidvest Tank Terminals is looking for an Operator to join our Operations Department in Isando. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of bulk liquids.

Key Responsibilities

• Report unsafe acts and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with OHS Act, SHEQ systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001).
• Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and observations.
• Coordinate and execute all site activities.
• Perform gas testing and vessel entry inspections.
• Calculate stop dips and pumping rates.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly dip tank measurements.
• Carry out IBC drumming activities.
• Direct and coordinate vehicle movements.
• Respond to high/low level alarms from the tank gauging system.
• Inspect hoses and perform pressure testing.
• Record tank heating, chilling, and nitrogen data.
• Work on a shift system.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Maths and Science preferred).
• 1–2 years of operations experience.
• Code 08 driver’s licence preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to detail.
• High numeracy skills.
• Computer literate; proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
