Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Packer to support the opening of our new store in Blueberry Square. The role involves receiving, checking, and packing stock accurately and efficiently, following Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures and customer requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum 6 months of retail receiving experience
• Basic mathematics skills
• Computer literate – MS Office
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Job Responsibilities

• Remove stock from supplier delivery vehicles
• Verify that all products received are correctly allocated
• Handle goods with care to minimise damage and personal injury
• Sort and pack different products onto pallets for easy checking
• Identify discrepancies (damaged, misplaced, wrong labels) and report them
• Work with the Receiving Clerk to sort stock and assist in the checking process
• Pack stock accurately into shelves or onto pallets
• Complete administrative forms and report any damages or accidents according to Dis-Chem SOPs

• Strong command of the English language

• Trustworthy and honest

Special Conditions of Employment

• Willing and able to work retail hours
• Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes, and adhere to health and safety standards
• Reliable transport and/or reside close to the store
• South African citizen
• Clear credit and criminal records
