Job Overview
The Attendant will be responsible for loading and unloading bread and crates from feeder, local, buy‑out, and rental trucks. The role requires careful coordination with stock controllers, accurate stock handling, and adherence to safety and FIFO practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload bread and crates from feeder, local, buy‑out, and rental trucks.
- Move bread from cages to the correct storage areas within the warehouse.
- Communicate with Stock Controllers about duties and stock status.
- Plan duties and activities based on truck loading sequence.
- Ensure the correct stock is loaded on each truck.
- Work on time to meet delivery schedules and avoid late shipments.
- Follow all safety regulations and best practices.
- Apply FIFO principles to maintain good stock flow.
- Maintain general housekeeping and 5S principles.
- Align with company values and uphold them at all times.
- Perform ad‑hoc duties within the despatch department as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum: NQF 4, Grade 12, or an equivalent qualification. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered based on SETA accreditations.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.
