Description

• Assist the Drone Pilot with planning, preparation, and execution of drone operations according to approved flight plans and procedures.
• Monitor weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and environmental factors that may affect flight safety, and report any concerns.
• Conduct thorough pre‑flight, in‑flight (where applicable), and post‑flight inspections of the drone, payload, batteries, sensors, and related equipment to ensure airworthiness and functionality.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance under supervision.
• Ensure proper storage, safekeeping, and transportation of drone equipment and accessories.
• Immediately report any technical malfunctions, safety hazards, incidents, or near‑misses to the Drone Pilot and/or supervisor.
• Assist in crowd control and perimeter management during operations where necessary.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) and Remote Pilot licence. Other aviation qualifications are advantageous.
• Clear criminal record.
• Driver’s licence is advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, report writing).
