Description

Assist the Drone Pilot with planning, preparation, and execution of drone operations following approved flight plans and procedures.

Monitor weather, airspace restrictions, and environmental factors that may affect flight safety, and report concerns to the Drone Pilot.

Conduct thorough pre‑flight, in‑flight (where applicable), and post‑flight inspections of the drone, payload, batteries, sensors, and related equipment to ensure airworthiness and functionality.

Assist with basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance under supervision.

Ensure proper storage, safekeeping, and transportation of drone equipment and accessories.

Immediately report any technical malfunctions, safety hazards, incidents, or near‑misses to the Drone Pilot and/or relevant supervisor.

Assist in crowd control and perimeter management during operations where necessary.

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) and Remote Pilot licence. Other aviation qualifications are advantageous.
• Clear criminal record.
• Driver’s licence is advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy (MS Office, email, report writing).
