About the Internship

This internship offers hands‑on experience in a variety of administrative and support functions within the Construction Education & Training Authority (CETA). Interns will work closely with unit supervisors and managers to learn the day‑to‑day operations of a public sector training authority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform entry‑level administrative tasks for the unit.
  • Handle correspondence and enquiries, and maintain unit records and files.
  • Provide administrative support for budgeting processes.
  • Assist with information gathering for audit preparation.
  • Help collate data and prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Support the preparation of meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Prepare at least one presentation per quarter (or as required).
  • Participate in a rotational plan that exposes you to different tasks across divisions.
  • Undergo formal progress reviews at the end of each quarter.

Core Competencies

During the internship, you will develop:

  • Knowledge of CETA’s role as a corporate and public entity and the broader SETA landscape.
  • Relevant theoretical knowledge in ICT/Computer Science and related functional areas.
  • Understanding of applicable regulatory laws and frameworks, including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, tax laws, BBBEE, Employment Equity, and affirmative action.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • South African citizen under 35 years old with a valid ID.
  • Post‑matric qualification from a recognised institution.
  • No prior participation in a SETA‑sponsored internship.
  • No previous employment.
  • Submit a detailed CV and a motivation letter.
  • Provide certified copies of ID and academic qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

  • ND in ICT / Computer Science.
  • Degree in ICT / Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
