Main Purpose

Support nursing unit staff in delivering safe, high‑quality patient care that meets the needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing quality patient care as part of a team.
• Identify and report risks in line with hospital policies.
• Help create a positive patient experience.
• Provide administrative support to nursing staff as required.
• Participate in continuous personal development to build staff competence.
• Ensure stock is used efficiently and accurately charged.

Required Education

Essential: Appropriate qualification as a Care Worker.

Desired: Grade 12.

Required Experience

Essential minimum: Experience in a healthcare environment.

Desired: None.

Job Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of stock control principles.
• Reporting and documenting events/tasks.
• Knowledge of medico‑legal risks.
• Knowledge of administrative tasks.
• Understanding of patient experience aspects.
• Understanding of patient care principles.
