About the Position
The Residence Officer will maintain and improve the living environment for students at the Vanderbijlpark campus. The role involves daily inspections, cleaning oversight, maintenance coordination, and safety management to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming residence.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect buildings daily and record findings.
- Submit requisitions for repairs and follow up until work is completed satisfactorily.
- Document work for payment and hand over to Residence Administration.
- Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring all repairs stay within limits.
- Conduct regular hygiene inspections.
- Oversee cleaning contractors and ensure contract terms are met.
- Order and manage consumable supplies.
- Act as the Safety Representative for the residence.
- Report all occupational health and safety incidents.
- Plan and enforce evacuation procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a university residence environment.
- At least 2 years of hospitality experience.
