About the Role

The Admin Clerk – Finance will support the financial management team with a range of accounting and administrative duties. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate budget and capture SCOA allocation in RLS01.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations (E‑Receipting, BAS/SAP, BAS/PERSAL).
  • Support Accounts Payable and capture journals on SAP weekly.
  • Clear suspense accounts and ensure supplier reconciliations are completed weekly.
  • Process payments in the web‑cycle within prescribed timeframes.
  • Manage petty cash, capture receipts, and handle monthly banking.
  • Monitor face‑value books and assist with related tasks as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as approved by the supervisor.
  • Comply with performance management and development systems.
  • Report on accruals and commitments monthly.
  • Assist with budget capture and SAP/SRM approvals.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent matric.
  • No prior experience required, but experience in financial management is an advantage.
  • Diploma or degree in Financial Management or a related field is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of BAS and SAP is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation: PFMA, Treasury Regulations, DORA, Public Service Act.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
  • Office administration competency and ability to work under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated, organised, and able to plan effectively.
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
  • Commitment to diversity and equity in the workplace.
