Job Purpose
To design, implement, manage changes, and support the SARS Workload Automation Scheduling system using BMC Control-M. This role defines operational processes for the organization. Work with application and system owners to design, configure, and schedule production batch jobs across a multi-platform enterprise infrastructure. Define and understand work processes and job plan dependencies. Help enforce production control policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
- Relevant National Diploma / Degree (NQF 6) in Information Technology and 3-4 years’ experience in a BMC Control-M environment, including 1-2 years at knowledge worker level.
Alternative
- Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 6 years’ experience in BMC Control-M environment, including 1-2 years at knowledge worker level.

- Gather future requirements, address SLA concerns, and identify impacts from new application changes.
- Present findings to various organizational levels to align automation with business needs.
- Communicate effectively with third parties, technical, and business owners on solution design.
- Provide independent judgment on methods and techniques for optimal automation.
- Integrate research and best practices for problem avoidance and improvement.
- Design and deploy job scheduling infrastructure.
- Apply IT concepts for complex analyses across IT specializations.
- Collaborate with managers and users to define job flows for new applications.
- Identify and resolve complex workload automation and scheduling issues.
- Maintain productive relationships with peers, SARS role players, and third parties.
- Conduct inspections to ensure adherence to procedures and recommend changes.
