Job Description

An Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager and takes over responsibilities in their absence. You will help maintain high standards in housekeeping, merchandising, shrinkage control, staff discipline, and store security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle banking of daily cash receipts.
  • Step in for the Store Manager when needed.
  • Ensure the store meets company standards for cleanliness, product display, loss prevention, discipline, and security.
  • Follow all company procedures and policies.
  • Support the Store Manager in leading and managing staff.
  • Implement front-end controls for smooth operations.
  • Oversee the cash office operations.
  • Minimize stock loss through careful monitoring.
  • Focus on excellent customer service.
  • Introduce sales initiatives to help meet store targets.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Matric / Grade 12 (Mathematics is an advantage) or NQF Level 4.
  • Previous experience in managing people.
  • Experience managing a department.
  • Clothing retail experience is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Good decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to maintain team productivity.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude.
  • Ethical with great integrity, honesty, and self-motivation.
