Operational Manager – General Female Medical Ward Grade 1 (PN-A5)

Requirements:

  • Basic R425 qualification (Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
  • A minimum of 7 years of appropriate nursing experience after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
  • Qualification in Psychiatry and 2 years of experience in medical wards.
  • Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. Diploma or Degree in Nursing Administration or Health Services Management, plus computer literacy.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively with patients, supervisors, other health professionals, and junior colleagues, including writing complex reports. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure quality nursing care. Supervise diverse staff with different intellectual, cultural, racial, or religious backgrounds.
  • Manage your own work and time, as well as that of your team, to provide proper nursing services. Show concern for patients by promoting and advocating for their treatment and care. Follow the principles of Batho Pele. Build and maintain professional networks to improve service delivery.
  • Use basic computer skills to support service delivery. Relieve Area Managers and work shifts as needed. Have knowledge of the Ideal Hospital Realisation Framework.
