Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work well in a team and rotate within the department. Basic knowledge of disinfection, decontamination, and sterilization.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).

Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs):

  • Apply sterilization processes and techniques effectively. Follow infection control, health, and safety rules. Decontaminate, pack, and sterilize instruments, linen, and supplies. Help clean and test sterilization equipment, washing machines, and autoclaves. Lift and move heavy equipment. Keep equipment in good working condition and use resources wisely. Operate autoclaves, washing machines, and other tools cost-effectively. Monitor stock levels, report issues, and help investigate lost instruments or equipment.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7).
