Experience
- 3-5 years of middle management experience (supervisory and management functions at an ASD level). Extensive work experience (6-10 years) in people administration and practices in the public sector. Experience in audit and compliance environments would be an advantage.
Inherent Requirements of the Job
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s licence. Training and proficiency in PERSAL.
Minimum Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Human Resources or People Management.

Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs)
- Ensure compliance of practices and processes with people management prescripts. Develop an audit framework with key indicators for various people management practice areas. Provide tools, mechanisms, and systems for reporting on areas of non-compliance.
- Provide quarterly people management compliance reports for the Western Cape Audit Committee (e.g., HRAAP and CMI). Contribute to departmental reporting. Handle PERSAL Helpdesk functions.
- Coordinate and oversee people management audit investigations on identified risk areas in processes. Prepare a program of audit investigations for identified risk areas in the department.
- Oversee and guide the implementation of people management audit investigations. Quality assure audit reports and provide them to clients. Manage ad-hoc people management audit investigations.
- Compile trend analysis from completed people management audits to inform training and upskilling initiatives. Ensure recommendations in internal audit reports are addressed. Provide functional training and tools on people management processes to line managers and components in the department.
- Oversee the training and upskilling program to address key people management risk areas.
- Ensure the delivery of an effective training program and monitor its impact. Facilitate the development of user-friendly people management procedure manuals, guidelines, and toolkits to improve compliance. Create and maintain a repository of standard operating procedures, policies, directives, and guidelines for all people management practice areas.
