Duties: Key Performance Areas
- Manage ongoing improvements and innovations in the financial management systems.
- Develop and update the training database.
- Ensure the training database is accurate by reporting any errors to LOGIK.
- Stay informed about new system releases and conduct training or workshops for provincial departments.
- Make sure attendance lists are available and provide feedback to the training manager.
- Report any unscheduled absences or no-shows to the training administrator and relevant department.
- Prepare USER IDs and exercises before each training session.
- Complete attendance and evaluation forms after every training.
- Plan and implement financial systems effectively. Compile statistical reports for BAS, FINEST, IFMS, and SCOA. Prepare verification documents for these systems.
- Identify issues and suggest solutions to your supervisor.
- Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to your supervisor. Follow ICT practices for system implementation. Maintain training venues, equipment, hardware, and software.
- Ensure training centers are fully equipped and suitable before each course.
- Report network issues to the GITO directorate and follow up until resolved.
- Manage ICT service providers, both in-house and outsourced. Supervise financial systems by ensuring nomination request letters are sent to provincial departments quarterly for BAS, FINEST, IFMS, and SCOA.
- Schedule provincial nominees for the correct functional areas in each system.
- Confirm training schedules and attendance before sessions start.
- Create user IDs for each system and test access to scheduled functions before training.
- Conduct assessments after each system training, mark answer sheets, and send results to system controllers. Receive progress reports to address any issues.
- Issue results to departments for all systems and file them properly.
- Visit training centers to observe trainers and suggest improvements.
- Manage the delivery of financial systems services to departments.
- Complete MOU agreements and submit quarterly progress reviews on time to supervisors.
- Sign and submit quarterly reviews of subordinates to your supervisor at the end of each quarter.
- Sign final reviews of subordinates on time at the end of the financial year.
Minimum Requirements
- An NQF Level 7 qualification in System Development, Business Analysis, Financial Information Systems, or a related field, as recognized by SAQA.
- 5 years of working experience at a middle or senior managerial level in Systems Development or a related environment.
- A valid driver’s license (except for persons with disabilities).
