Principal Technician: Public Transport Jobs

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6)
• Valid Code B driver’s licence
• 8 years of relevant experience

Other Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Proven track record in contract and project management
• Knowledge of management, financial management, quality assurance, and safety regulations
• In-depth knowledge of Council policies such as HR, Supply Chain Management, Local Government Legislation, and National Government Legislation including NLTA, NRTA, the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, White Paper on Local Government, NWA, NEMA, MFMA, MSA, and Construction Industry Guidelines and Standards like CIDB, SANS, and COLTO
• Applicable guidelines and standards
• Leadership competencies and problem-solving skills
• Tactical and strategic thinking and adaptability skills
• Well-developed interpersonal and effective communication skills
• Sufficient seniority and credibility
• Ability to work in a team environment and perform under pressure
• Language proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape (English, Xhosa, and Afrikaans)
