IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be mined using large mechanized state-of-the-art underground methods. We are deploying the latest technology to build this “mine of the future.”

Suitable candidates must have the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Grade 12/NQF 4
  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate (advantageous)
  • Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s License
  • Fault-finding skills

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment
  • Solid welding and mechanical experience

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Cleaning, lubricating, and preserving machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop, tool room, and yard areas.
  • Maintaining mechanical equipment on site.
  • Repairing and maintaining the de-watering system.
  • Maintaining the winder and headgear.
  • Performing general cleaning and removing rust from parts and equipment.
  • Ensuring the proper use and care of equipment.
  • Assisting artisans with inspections, testing, and repairs of lifting equipment and plant.
  • Delivering and collecting materials, spares, tools, and machinery used in fabrication and maintenance of equipment and plant.
