Clinical Nurse Practitioner Grade 1 to 2 (Primary Health Care) (3-month contract)

Duties (Key Result Areas/Outputs):

  • Assist with managing and providing clinical comprehensive primary health care services.
  • Plan and implement health promotion and prevention activities in the facility and community.
  • Link with community structures and non-profit organizations.
  • Collect data and submit reports on time.
  • Assist with managing human and equipment resources.
  • Ensure an effective administrative service.
  • Facilitate clinical teaching, training, and health education.
  • Provide effective clinical services and take part in research activities.

Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):

  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure good patient care.
  • NIMART training or experience.
  • Effective communication skills.

Experience:

  • Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • At least 10 years of the period above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the one-year post-basic qualification Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (R48).
