Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 1: No experience required.
  • Grade 2: At least 10 years of appropriate experience in nursing after registering with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
  • Grade 3: At least 20 years of appropriate experience in nursing after registering with the SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.

Minimum Educational Qualification:

  • Basic R425 qualification (diploma or degree in nursing) or an equivalent that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.

Duties:

  • Provide holistic, quality healthcare and education based on the needs of patients, families, and the community.
  • Use resources effectively.
  • Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and personal development.
  • Support nursing services.
  • Take part in training and research.
  • Keep proper records and handle administrative tasks.

Competencies (Knowledge and Skills):

  • Computer literacy, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Knowledge of protocols and policies for nursing practices in a hospital setting.
